The Financial Anxiety Madrigals, a collaborative creation with artist and writer Jaakko Pallasvuo, unfolds in three distinct movements: Club, Casino, and Beach. Each movement is meticulously crafted to offer unique insights into the challenges of late-stage capitalism. In Club, a pulsating disco groove sets the stage, echoing the iconic opening lines of Gloria Gaynor's "I Will Survive." Meanwhile, Casino delves into the haunting atmosphere of isolation and timelessness within the confines of a gambling den. Here, the choir's voices intertwine in four independent trios, evoking a sense of heavenly monotony. The journey culminates in Beach, where a surreal twist transforms the serene and absolute material heard at the outset, making it seem unattainable amidst the aquatic soundscape that envelops it.
